During the execution of the support pillars of the bridge over the Somesu Mare river, a particular difficulty consisted in stopping the massive infiltrations (5 mc/min) in the caissons in which the bearings at the base of the support pillars positioned in the riverbed had to be poured.
Following the injection with Geopur polyurethane resins, the caisson enclosure was successfully isolated and thus the bearings and piers of the bridge in the riverbed could be realized.
